Community Organizers Fighting Against #BarackObama !

President Obama is facing uprising "from the community where his presidential center is supposed to be built—the same community, in fact, where he got his start in politics."

Community organizers are concerned that with gentrification growing rapidly, the community center was cause a backfire fo the community. Jeanette Taylor, the education director of the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization argues that Obama should've set a community benefits agreement.

"The first time investment comes to black communities, the first to get kicked out is low-income and working-class people. Why wouldn’t you sign a CBA to protect us?"

Obama responded to Taylor explaining he knows the neighborhood. "I know that the minute you start saying, ‘Well, we’re thinking about signing something that will determine who’s getting jobs and contracts and this and that’ … next thing I know, I’ve got 20 organizations coming out of the woodwork.”

Yikes...I hope that everyone is able to come together to build up the neighborhood and community. I look forward to the Obama Center and hope that many minorities will receive benefits and a huge source of inspiration.
