Beyoncé makes history at #Coachella 2018

Beyoncé couldn't perform at Coachella last year due to her doctor's orders. She was carrying her royal twins, Rumi & Sir Carter. We already knew she would show up and show out even harder this year for #BEYCHELLA ! For nearly twooooo hours the queen kept surprising us! Alisa Adamson at #BLKCULTURE commented, "She took us to Wakanda, a #HBCU classic, Battle of the Bands, the Ultimate Probate/Step Show and more!"

"Y'all ready for Coachella?!

She brought out her hubby #JayZ, her superstar sister #SOLANGE, and a very special reunion with #KELLYROWLAND & #MICHELLEWILLIAMS Destiny's CHIIIIIIIILD! I was screaming while watching everything. Matthew Knowles, Destiny's Child's manager, made an appearance on The Wendy Williams show and shared there will be NO reunion any time soon. Wink wink...he sure did fool us! The ladies joined Bey for a three-song medley, including “Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name,” and “Soldier.”AHHHHHHH!

Solange joined Bey for a dance-off during the extended version of “Get Me Bodied” to show them how true #Texas women get down! Ayyyyye!

Jay-Z hyped the crowd during “Deja Vu” with his incredibly gracious wife.

She truly brought the #HBCU experience to Coachella. The queen was supported by a 200-person band (all of whom performed on a set designed to resemble bleachers at a homecoming rally), formed a drum line, including a majorette, and hit the steps like she graduated from Spelman. HONEEEEEEEEEY!

Beyoncé University also brought their own Divine Nine: Introducing Beyoncé Delta Knowles (or Beta Delta Kappa) Fraternity Incorporated, established in 2018. My favorite part about this section was her spring line of nine men, her “Bug-a-Boos,” who had to prove their worth before the queen herself before crossing. She told one of the men, "Make me laugh." The men quickly went into their routine to gain the queen's approval.

Makes me laugh.

Beyoncé gave homage to the music that shaped her life and her iconic caree. She covered Dawn Penn’s “You Don’t Love Me”; Nina Simone’s “Lilac Wine” (she also played a snippet of “Strange Fruit”); and had her band incorporate Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up,” “Swag Surfin’,” “Getting to the Money,” Fela Kuti’s “Zombie” and many more into multiple songs for various mash-ups.

Now...this part really had me shook. The queen sang the Black National Anthem. Now words for this moment.

The #LESTWINS (Laurent and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois) were there and danced the french tails off! I love this dynamic duo. No one moves like them. They are our modern day Nicholas Brothers! She continued to surprise with so many throwbacks and an amazing night of super talent. Beyoncé’s stylist Marni Senofonte turned to Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing to create five custom Beychella army outfits and there was even nail polish changes...No one does it like Beyoncé. Her choreographer JaQuel Knight called her 2018 Coachella performance “amazing, beyond, iconic, life,” and said that it would “change the game.” Well duh.

My favorite quote of the night:

Coachella, thank you for allowing me to be the first Black Woman to headline Coachella. Ain't that bout a b*tch?!

Yes, she made sure to check Coachella about diversity. Hmph. Come on QUEEN! I can't imagine how exciting this coming up weekend will be with ROUND 2 of Beychella!
